U10 Match Report

U10 League Match 8th March 2009.
F.C Chippenham 2 Westbury 0

FC Chippenham bounced back from last weeks defeat to put in a very good team performance against Westbury with a convincing 2 nil win.
Some fine passing and moving created chances right from the kick off with a shot in the first minute bringing a save out of the Westbury keeper and moments later Harry Vickers hit the post. 8 minutes on the clock and Kieran Fitzwater found the net from a fine layback by Marcus Fenton.

In midfield Sam Costain worked very hard to win the ball and created many chances with some great passes into the box and was rewarded just before half time squaring the ball to Marcus Fenton in space just out side the box who shot into the bottom corner of Westbury’s goal to make it 2 nil.

In the second half Westbury looked very dangerous on the break and put some pressure on the Chippenham goal but FC Chippenham were also dangerous on the counter attack and were unlucky not to have 2 or 3 more goals in the second half. New signings Toby and Will Ferguson came on to make their home debuts both putting in solid performances to keep the game under control. The Chippenham defence of keeper Tadgh Feerick and defenders Matt Kirtley and Sam Fieldhouse (replaced by Will Summers in the second half) worked hard for yet another clean sheet. Overall a very high quality game was enjoyed by all with Chippenham deserving the win.
